Accommodation
Octola is the most exclusive five star luxury accommodation in Lapland, Finland and Arctic region with its own private wilderness and wildlife.
Situated in Finnish Lapland, Octola offers secluded wilderness at the Arctic Circle, with exhilarating activities right on your doorstep. Octola Private Wilderness has been purpose-built to provide luxury in the Arctic, whilst incorporating Lapp and Sámi traditions. The shape of Octola is derived from authentic Lapp ‘laavu’ buildings, that were previously used to provide shelter for the people living a nomadic lifestyle. The lodge is just a 20-minute drive from Rovaniemi International Airport, a one hour drive on snowmobile or three hours by husky dog sledding.
Beautifully designed, the lodge has plenty of cosy common areas to relax in; including an open plan living and dining area with spectacular views of the wilderness outside. Octola is split into two wings, one with six bedrooms, the other with four bedrooms; all with en-suite bathrooms.
Geothermal heating and a wood burning sauna ensure you stay warm even at the coldest time of the year.
Octola has dedicated chefs serving versatile Nordic cuisine during your stay. The menu is based around locally-sourced ingredients yet dietary requirements are taken into account.
There are a number of activities available during your stay, from snowshoeing with a wilderness guide to tobogganing and nature walks. There is also an opportunity to feed the reindeer and, in summer/autumn, foraging walks. For an additional charge you can also try ice driving, fat biking, reindeer sledding, downhill skiing, horseback riding and husky sledding.
